Motor Driver Diagram  Drone Circuit Race Tent Designs Nate Barone - https://www.tinkercad.com/things/lNw7r3vN0x8-nate-barone-racetent-idea/editv2 The idea of this race tent is that it is a 10' x 10' square tent with a circular hole in the middle. On top of this there will be objects projecting from the top, bottom, and walls of the tent itself. This will combine a lap based time with avoiding obstacles. Thomas Dobransky- https://www.tinkercad.com/things/1GGoF2i54TD-fabulous-robo/editv2 For this race tent there is one large pole in the middle for the drones to circulate around. Around the pole there will be rings for the racers to fly through. Idea for STEM Club https://www.vexrobotics.com/vexiq/products/kits-bundles/starter-kits/ VEX IQ promotes large interest in teaching STEM ideals in high schools. While we would only be able to buy one starter kit ~ $279.99, it combines many different types of STEM ideas together. It also connects to our drones as both dea...

Drawbacks or Limitations: If the drone passes by really quickly the sensor may not pick up on it; in our testing with just hands we were able to quickly get by without the LED going off. We would have to put both the Mega2560 board and the breadboard into the tent with the drones; this could lead to an accident leading to malfunctions of the circuit We would also have to measure out the distance from the inward bounding barrier towards the outward bounding barrier. This would be so that the drone couldn't fly too far away from the sensor and not be picked up but also so that it couldn't fly outside of the obstacle and get a positive reading.

Our tent design in general worked well. Our proposed changes would be: To improve construction and deconstruction time, if we could use an electric hand saw to cut grooves into the pipe to hold the the cardboard we wouldn't have to take the many minutes to tape everything together to set up and take down. To improve the ability of the drones to fly, we would use a different style of netting. While this netting keeps the drone within the tent, the rotors get caught very easily causing the drone to be unable to fly. Also, while its not a major thing, to decrease the difficulty of the tent's obstacles we could create shapes with larger holes. We were able to fly through every one of them, proving it was possible, but it seemed like many people struggled with getting through them. How we would implement the Ultrasonic Sensor We would implement the Ultrasonic Sensor by putting in on one of our cardboard obstacle. It would be programmed to create either a noise, or ...

Bill of Materials Netting (48.28 Dollars) We are splitting the cost of the netting   with another group (Steve and David’s) for out netting that lays over the entire tent structure. Week 1 Tent Exploration

This is a full scale, professional level, drone racing tent. The goal behind this tent set up is following the race course start to finish. The stipulation is all the drones have to get through the red arches, and stay in-between the blue lines on the ground. By going outside of either of those lines, red and blue, a time penalty or entire disqualification can occur. Times are taken at the end to find out who completed the course the quickest, awarding the fastest drone as the winner. This is our planned tent. The main objective of our tent is to fly through different sized, and shaped, objects inside of the tent. They will be given a short time limit, somewhere around one minute, to fly through as many different holes as possible. Each hole will be given a different point value, increasing value with difficulty to get through. At the end of one minute, all of the players points will be tallied up for a final score. This is our scaled down build of the tent. For the fin...

Module 1

What is the main objective of the course? Nate Barone: Through the creation of our own drones along with the enclosures to fly them in, we hope to create a visible change to interest in STEM related majors. To help with this, we are getting students involved in the Notre Dame Catholic High School STEM Club, across the street from SHU, involved in with our project this semester. As an added bonus we also are hoping to raise money to go into the STEM club's budget to further help stimulate interest. Thomas Dobransky: The main objective of this course is to be involved and help the community around us, while at the same time learning new engineering skills.
